Brandon Gibbs - October Twenty Four EP

What if...  What if there were a performer that came from a small town in Iowa, belonged to a couple of "super groups" and has sang lead vocals for a legendary rock band and he released a new EP, do you think he would be interesting?  What if I told you this same guy recorded music with some of the biggest names in '80's heavy metal and he is as humble as a dove?  And what if I were to tell you that he is as big a talent as there is in music today?  Would you want to hear more?

Brandon Gibbs Band - Rascals Live - April 29th, 2016

Pedigrees are very telling instruments aren't they?  At times a pedigree can be chock full of unimportant sources that look like simple filler with nothing more than blah, blah, blah, blah, blah gushing through the ink on the paper that they cover.  When a pedigree exudes that kind of emotion it becomes quick work to discredit the pedigree in rather quick fashion.  Yes at times they can seem to be just dripping with droll moments in their history that are mere chaff upon the threshing floor but at times there are pedigrees that stand out and should be noticed.  Right?

Devil City Angels - Debut Album

For some time now I have been talking to people about a band that I saw for the first time in 2014 at a place called "Catfish Bend."  I began talking about the skill of this band and the pedigree that follows it and while I would mention that I promised them that when the band released its first album they would understand.  Would I be right?  To paraphrase the old adage "the Devil is in the details."

Devil City Angels - Pzazz Event Center, September 19th, 2014

Everything around us goes through some type of iteration.  The moment something happens is an iteration in the cycle of whatever you are doing.  Whether it be putting gasoline in your tank (that instance is an iteration of the act of putting fuel in that tank) or brushing your teeth (that is an iteration of removing the goop from your pearly whites) they are both iterations of the status of objects.  As an example, examine music no, examine musicians and the many iterations they go through in their careers.  Well...

Cheap Thrill - Summer's Last Blast August 22, 2014

The end of summer can be a depressing time for many.  While the end of summer signals the end of vacations, and many outdoor recreational events, it also can be the start of many great things.  The end of summer signals students of all ages going back to school, the start of football and the impending MLB playoffs and it also allows the opportunity to get in a "Cheap Thrill" or two in.

Cheap Thrill - Mississippi Moon Bar

At some point in one's life we are presented with the opportunity to get a "cheap thrill."  Whether it be an unexpected chance meeting with a personal hero or celebrity, or watching a car chase on TV, the experience of a cheap thrill is the same.  One could even consider the Janet Jackson appearance, and her wardrobe "malfunction" as a cheap thrill but never discount the affects of a cold and rainy night in Iowa as to providing its own "Cheap Thrill."
